I watched the tsunami from a hotel TV in Los Angeles. They broadcasted it live, but I don’t think they realized exactly what they were showing as the cars and homes were being eaten up by water. They didn’t show those exact moments again. For me, it was a little like watching that plane go into the Trade Center and not realizing immediately that there were people inside. Just shapes hitting other shapes.
