Even indie comics are getting to be—in not big business—then extremely popular. More popular than a street fair, even. The last two years, perhaps inspired by BCGF and TCAF, have seen indie shows spring up in many cities from Minneapolis Autopic, to Portland’s The Projects to Chicago’s CAKE.

I am so jealous that folks in LA get to see Twice Upon a Time. I recall fondly enjoying this weird, lost, animated film when I watched it on cable multiple times as a kid.

The tsunami was one year ago today.
I watched the tsunami from a hotel TV in Los Angeles. They broadcasted it live, but I don’t think they realized exactly what they were showing as the cars and homes were being eaten up by water. They didn’t show those exact moments again. For me, it was a little like watching that plane go into the Trade Center and not realizing immediately that there were people inside. Just shapes...
